The 53rd Annual Grammy’s Award Show

1. Although the singing performance was well done, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson seemed almost out of place performing with much older singers. Also, that Christina was in the middle of them, to appear as the lead, seemed questionable as well. She has had a huge image change from her past performances, where she was once an innocent teenage star, to a ‘Dirty’ rebel, to a 1950’s queen, to a well-rounded diva. Her bleach blonde hair definitely made her stick out during the Grammy’s performance, however the camera focusing on her for the majority of the time helped as well.

2. Dressed in her usual ‘unusual’ costumes, I thought Lady Gaga’s acceptance speech was genuine and sweet. Although her eyes were masked by sunglasses, the happy cry was heard through her acceptance as she thanked her parents and coworkers. She was very modest in her speech and took time to discuss why she wrote the song she did and how she imagined it. Again, she took the time to state that you can be whoever you want to be, a strong message to her ‘fame monster’ fans.

3. The speech that Justin Bieber and Usher recited to each other before their performance seemed nothing short of phony. I personally laughed when they finished (even though I love the Biebs) because they sounded so scripted and cliche. However, Justin Bieber clearly wanted to show a more intimate and down-to-earth side by playing his acoustic guitar and singing briefly. The ninja’s and karate moves that were added in to the performance were clearly used to give a bigger and longer lasting impression, which it did. Although it seemed almost unnecessary, the tactics definitely left the performance in ones mind. Jaden Smith was adorable in it, as he is a young, cute rising superstar, and his dance moves definitely added to the performance!

Grammy Awards (Analyzation)

A) Cee-Lo Green

Image
An over-weight African-American guy, who has an outrageous fashion sense and says exactly what is on his mind.

Authentic
Since he is new and we have not seen any other guys really like him, we cannot be sure. Maybe he is trying to start a trend, or he really is as weird as he appears.

Album
The picture of him on his album has him in a suit, different then how he usually dresses, so I do not believe it helped sell the album. Glee covered his song, which definitely would have helped.

Fans reaction
Fans love his unique and eccentric look, along with the honest lyrics in his songs.

Personal reaction
I admire his originality. Although the genre is unusual, he seems to correlate with Lady Gaga, where he doesn’t care what others think and just wants to express himself in music, as opposed to clothes (in terms of Lady Gaga).

B)
Justin Bieber

Image
A tween popstar. He is very fashionable and likes to have fun, but knows that family is everything. A lot of people over the age of 15 portray him as a “pre-pubecent homosexual” due to his young looking features and his style of over-played music.

Has it changed
Yes. He used to be a young, sweet and single child star. He wears darker clothing and hangs out with more ‘thug’ looking people/crew members.

Authentic
I believe it is. Most boys at his age have a typical ‘style’ which he seems to follow. He is at the age where he can wear what he wants, and he keeps it classy but stylish. He keeps his hair style the same. He has stayed friends with the same people and remains tight to his mother. It does not appear as though fame has affected him to an extreme extent.

Album
His image definitely helps him sell his album. If he dressed as a nerd or less then perfect, he would not sell as many records.

Fans reaction
Young girls (tweens) generally love Justin Bieber psychopathic degree. He is a guy who knows how to have fun and make fun of himself, without being pressured into bad things. He is typically admirable and respectable, but has one of the largest number hate groups of all celebrities.

Personal reaction
I used to despise Justin Bieber due to the overwhelming hatred that is constantly brought upon him, so I deemed it easier just to go along with it. Although, I think he is a good singer and creates catchy songs that meet their demand, and I’ve gained a bit of respect upon finding out that he makes fun of his pre-pubecent image on FunnyorDie.com.

New diplomatic cables contain UFO details

New leaked diplomatic cables set to be published by Wikileaks will contain fresh details on UFOs, according to the website’s founder Julian Assange.

The 39 year-old Australian, who is wanted by Interpol over a charge of rape and sexual assault in Sweden, said there were some references to extraterrestrial life in yet-to-be-published confidential files obtained from the American government.

He did not disclose what information was contained in the diplomatic memos obtained by the whistleblowing website. It also remains unclear when they will be published.

Mr Assange said his website, under considerable strain in recent days over its “Cablegate” series of leaks, received emails from “weirdos” claiming to have seen UFOs.

We must strive to be like the moon.

A nice track from Lights’ latest release.

Whatever you do in life will be insignificant. But it’s very important that you do it.

Car thief runs in terror as naked owner jumps in passenger seat

Russell Stuart, 51, was asleep in his home in Dymchurch, Kent, when he heard his Peugeot 405 being started up in his driveway in the early hours of the morning.

He leapt out of bed and raced out of his front door before opening the passenger door and getting in alongside the would-be thief and said: “Where we going then?”

Etched onto the surface of Lake Baikal, this snow and ice drawing is the world’s single largest artwork, stretching out to a total area of over nine square miles. The project took land artist Jim Denevan and his team of eight people 15 days to complete. Using the frozen black ice beneath the white snow as a canvas, Jim and his team used snow ploughs for the enormous circular lines and shovels for the smallest 18-inch circumference lines, Jim designed his pattern using a mathematical fibonacci curve and ‘drew’ his creation before the team began using a bike, which he rode around lining his artwork into the snow.
